TKC Day Nursery menus

NUTRITION AT TKC

TKC Day Nursery menus provides fresh, seasonal ingredients that reflect a diversity of cultures and tastes. This allowing children to experience an exciting range of tastes, smells and textures. Mealtimes are a sociable occasion at TKC. Tables are set and prepared where the children are encouraged to serve their own meals and pour their own drinks. Practitioners sit with the children using this as a opportunity to chat and socialise.  A sample TKC Menu can be viewed here.

As well as eating delicious food each day, TKC practitioners incorporate healthy living and eating into our Curriculum.  During their time at nursery your little one will get lots of opportunities to prepare their own meals.  Cooking helps children to learn to measure, weigh and count their way to a healthy meal. It also helps: develop fine and gross motor skills; teaches children about hygiene and encourages fussy eaters to try new types of food.  By creating a positive association with healthy ingredients, we aim to instil healthy choices that will last a lifetime.  Fresh air through lots of active play, healthy meals/snacks and encouragement to drink water, are simple ways TKC achieve this.

What can you expect from the TKC menu:

  • selection of fresh fruit, water and milk a which is available for snack time.
  • nutritious food that’s been freshly prepared
  • delicious, healthy and balanced meals and snacks
  • a wide variety of lovely flavours, textures and smells

TKC Day Nursery have consistently been awarded 5 stars by the Food Standards Agency. For more information check out our food rating on the Food Standards Agency website. Please also take a look at the Chapel and Heald Green webpages, and TKC Blogs for information of the meals and snacks the children have made.
